Fleeing Sweden

29 Jun

Flied to Taiwan last friday -> No posts!

But Ima photobomb this blog when I get back, cause this country has too many beautiful sceneries! (At least I HOPE i’ll have SOME good pics)

Often while traveling with a camera we arrive just as the sun slips over the horizon of a moment, too late to expose film, only time enough to expose our hearts.  ~Minor White

(I forgot where I got the pic>.<)

Swedish Summer

23 Jun

I’ll never ever comlpain about the weather being to hot again, every time I do so it starts to rain for like a week! As if Sweden’s summer wasn’t short enough…Oh well, at least I got to experience how it was trying to take pics while trying to not let my umbrella fly away in the hurricane-like wind, something I refuse to do again in a near future = = Screw the rain I’m going to play pokémon on my Gameboy!

Weather is a great metaphor for life – sometimes it’s good, sometimes it’s bad, and there’s nothing much you can do about it but carry an umbrella.”  ~Terri Guillemets

(In this case my Gameboy is my umbrella lol)

I’m a Taiwanese born and raised in Sweden, and I love both countries. But as we all know, both countries have their flaws. I never thought this was on of Taiwans flaws:

Context: Subway in Taipei, Taiwan, a girl sitting on one of the seats that are reserved for elderly, injured, pregnant (simply ppl who needs to sit down whilst taking the subway), an old man wants to sit and the girl gets mad and start to yell at the man.

Of all of the times I’ve been in Taiwan I’ve always met nice and polite ppl, it’s almost as if it’s a competition of who can offer a “disabled” person a seat first. But this…WTF has happened?! For those who don’t speak mandarin, the girl is using some really nasty words/phrases like 80% of  the clip, so effing disrespectful! I was so angry at the girl and felt so sorry for the man that I couldn’t even finish watching the clip. Seriously, WHO DOES THAT?!

And most importantly, why didn’t anyone help that man?! Everyone just stood there, trying to look as if they are minding their own business, but in the reality they were listening very carefully to every word that was exchanged between the girl and the man, and at the same time trying to sneak a peak when it was “appropriate”.

This clip really makes me dissapointed on mankind, both in terms of rudeness and the lack of moral courage.

I’m not much for useless posts, i’m more inte quality over quantity. But for some reason i tend to break my own habits, so if you thought this was gonna be an interesting post (as if you would think that…!), I can only say this: Suuuuuucker, this is just an useless post of vain pics of me HAH ^^

I do like to dress up, put on make up and all that kinds of stuff to change my appearance, but i’d never change myself by going under the knife.  Clothes and accessories helps me express myself showing who I am, while cosmetic surgery changes who I am (tho i understand that it can be good sometimes, i dun think i have to mention all the reasons ;p).

Without this ridiculous vanity that takes the form of self-display, and is part of everything and everyone, we would see nothing, and nothing would exist.”  ~Antonio Porchia, Voces, 1943, translated from Spanish by W.S. Merwin

When last course ended my friends and I were so tired of everything; the weather, school, writing essays and so on. The last seminar was on a thursday, two days earlier (thuesday) we decided to go on a 40hr cruise to Finland right after the seminar ended. the cruise we booked allowed us to stay in Finland for about 7hrs for some sightseeing.

I ❤ spontaneity! One of my dreams is to pack a bag with some clothes and then just head to the airport and check if they have any last minutes tickets. I’ll definitely do that this summer!

Back to topic! I’m gonna mix some of my pics with some of my friend James’ pics:

Trying to do a human replica of the painting on the ground, pretty fail tho! (somewhere in Stockholm)

This is the view from our cabin in the boat. The corridor on the pic was the main road on the boat and it had everything a pedestrian street in any big city have (restaurants, shops, boutiques, bars, casinos and so on)After we were done exploring the pedestrian street we went to have dinner at the buffet restaurant! I could barely walk when we left the place, the food was so delicious so we just kept eating and eating. After dinner we all, except for one, had to pay the toilet a visit lols.

At midnight a really talented group of performers had a show in one of the clubs.

Random shots on the boat!

When we finally arrived in Finland we were greeted by super nice weather!

We found an “apocalypse church” after a while and we would probably be very interested if it weren’t for the lack of sleep (we spent our 7hrs in Finland sleeping on the stairs infront of the church).

I found my future hubby in Finland!

And that was pretty much my weekendtrip!

Jumbo Stay Hostel

6 Jun

The topic for our latest essay is to study and analyze a touristcompany’s business concept, we chose to study Jumbo Stay Hostel ‘s business concept. As a part of writing that essay my group and I went to Jumbo Stay Hostel at Stockholm Arlanda International Airport to interview the initiator of the hostel, Oscar Diös.

I must say, when this course started I wasn’t familiar with the airplane-hostel-concept, I didn’t react to it. But when we arrived to the hostel I was totally blown away! The exterior and interior was so well thought of and all the details made the concept outstanding. Instead of babbling about it I thought I should share some pics I took that day:

The first stop was at Arlanda Airport terminal 2, where we got on a shuttle bus that would take us directly to the hostel. Placing the hostel 5 minutes away from the airport was really strategic!

Isn’t it amazing??

The view from the balcony

The café

One of the suites. I love how they didn’t remove the control panel, it takes the experience to a whole new level. It becomes accommodation and experience in one package.

The owner even told us that they plan to make room for more guests, and since there’s no more space left inside the plane to make more rooms, they are planning to use the planes engine/turbine and turn them ite small rooms. That is just brilliant! This response to the increasing competition between accommodations is awesome, I’m so amazed of how creative people can be!

I’m really spammning pics of flowers, but i have a very good reason of why I’m doing this! I’m still learning how to use my new camera and I’m taking it slowly by exploring one setting at the time, starting with the Macro-setting.

By focusing on one setting at the time, I can learn its pros and cons and some other useful stuffs like that. But yea, I’m probably gonna puke flowers if I continue like this.

It was too bright outside, so the white petals turned out all mushy on the pic! I really need to get away from the auto-settings…

Lastly, i wanna share a song. Imagine being in a pretty garden with many pretty flowers and this song playing in the background, what a great day! Haha

Spamming flowers

3 Jun

A couple of days ago I finally got some time to explore my new camera, and I really really love it! I didn’t try that many different adjustments, I mostly used the full automatic and the macro adjustment. I’ll try out the other adjustments when I finish reading the manual (ugh, dislike manuals!).

The object I photographed was my mom’s new orchidflowers. I’ve been spamming flowerpics for a while now, need to find some other things to photograph..! lol

This is my favourite pic out of all of them!
